Welcome to our website

Welcome to the website of the UK based 1st Great Notley Scout Group covering the Great Notley and Great Leighs area in Essex.

Think you know scouting? You may be surprised - take a look at the video to the right for more info.

Scouting is open to all young people aged 6 to 25 of every faith and background. As well as presenting youngsters in our local area with great experiences and lots of fun and adventures it is also a great opportunity for adults to get involved; whether to rediscover the adventure themselves, contribute to the local community or simply spend more quality time with their child.

One of the biggest myths about Scouting is that Groups are closing down due to a lack of young people wanting to become Members. Nothing could be further from the truth; Scouting in the UK is a growing Movement and Scouting currently has 30,000 young people on the waiting lists simply because we do not have enough adults to help out.

Whether you are an existing member of our Scout Group, are interested in joining our group, just having a look around, or arrived here by mistake please feel free to have a look around and get to know us a little.
